POST presents the Black Is Primary Juneteenth Festival, a celebration of Black Joy, Art, and Entrepreneurship. This all-day, all-ages event seeks to honor Black heritage both locally and globally through story-telling, performance, business and culture.
A color-filled performance of choirs, spoken word, debate, dance and slam poetry honoring local and generational Black heritage
Headliners include, Houston Poet Laureate Outspoken Bean and San Diego Poet Laureate Rudy Francisco. These performances will follow with a live performance by Houston local artist; AJ McQueen, Dallas Black Dance Theatre Dancer Isabel Wallace-Green, violinist Jamie Perry and much more.

A colorful and interactive, black-light block party featuring Houston vendors hosted by DJ Supastar. Performances by dancers and brass bands will be live on the blacktop mural painted by resident via colori artist; Shawn Artis and slabs will have popped trunks for your viewing pleasure.
North Docks | 7pm - 12am
POST Market, POST’s international market hall is home to a number of Black-owned business including ChòpnBlọk, Lucy Pearls, Thrive Juices, and Sweets With L&L, and will be open for guests during the festival.
The 40 Acre Conference's Juneteenth Freedom Festival is a minority financial equity conference on Juneteenth Freedom Weekend.
This in-person and live stream experience will combine cashflow, community, and culture in an entertaining festival setting. The 3-day festival beginning on June 17 is packed with events that highlight Black culture, excellence and entrepreneurship.
All events on Sat, June 18 are free to the public except for the concert at 713 Music Hall. Please purchase the concert ticket on Live Nation's website.
Onsite parking at POST is first come, first serve, and hourly rates apply all time.
NO CASH payment is taken at POST. All parking fees need to be paid UPON EXIT online or at the exit machine with your card. There is NO TICKET at the entrance.

Black Is Primary Juneteenth Festival is being overseen and curated by Outspoken Bean, who was named Houston’s 5th Poet Laureate by Mayor Sylvester Turner in April 2021, and Samantha Blair.
Bean has spent countless hours mentoring Houston’s youth and implementing community outreach projects that help raise awareness around diversity.
Samantha is a government services supervisor and community outreach specialist at Project Row Houses. Previously, she was an on-air personality at 97.9 as co-host for Access Houston and worked as an intern under Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee.
“Black is Primary Juneteenth Festival plans to showcase and enlighten attendees about Black Culture through a day filled with music, dance, poetry, art, education and fun that only Houston can deliver,” says Outspoken Bean, co-curator of Black is Primary Juneteenth Festival. “Juneteenth is America’s newest federal holiday and we plan to celebrate it in the most exciting way possible. Partnering with POST Houston allows us the opportunity to curate a well-rounded event that we hope will inspire the membersof the Houston community for years to come.”
