Pride and Joy, A Tribute to Stevie Ray Vaughan
Houston's Heights High School Art Car Club students, under the instruction of artist and educator Rebecca Bass, spent over 200 hours transforming a 1978 Chevrolet Caprice into a sparkling masterpiece in honor of Texas legendary singer-songwriter and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame musician Stevie Ray Vaughan.
Built in 2019, Pride and Joy features homages to Vaughan's music catalog, crafted out of broken jewelry, beads, Harley_Davidson mufflers, glass tiles & bottles, mirrors, and other found objects. Pride & Joy was the winner of the Mayor's Cup Prize in the Orange Show's 2019 Houston Art Car Parade, the highest honor to participating Art Cars.

Bohemian Rhapsody, A Tribute to Queen
Houston's Heights High School Art Car Club students, under the instruction of artist and educator Rebecca Bass, spent over 200 hours transforming a 2004 Nissan Sentra into an amazing glittery masterpiece in honor of the legendary British rock band Queen and its front man Freddie Mercury.
Built in 2016, Bohemian Rhapsody features homages to Queen's music catalog, crafted out of broken jewelry, beads, Harley_Davidson mufflers, glass tiles & bottles, mirrors, and other found objects. Bohemian Rhapsody was the winner of the First Place Prize in the Orange Show's 2016 Houston Art Car Parade.

Fruitmobile by Jackie Harris
This three-dimensional masterpiece on wheels is adorned with painted plastic fruits, flowers, birds, champagne glasses, dishes, and flames. Created in 1984 by Jackie Harris for the Orange Show using a Ford Country Squire Station Wagon, it sparked the art car movement and has since been celebrated worldwide, featured in countless magazines, newspapers, movies, and television shows.
Karmaillo by Rebecca Bass
A bold and dazzling creation by Rebecca Bass, "Karmaillo" is a testament to her decades-long legacy as a pioneer of the art car community. Known for empowering inner-city youth to create breathtaking art cars, Rebecca's works have become iconic symbols of creative expression and community. "Karmaillo" blends intricate details and vibrant design, showcasing Rebecca’s unmistakable artistry and passion.
